The harpSampler application offers a sophisticated platform that transforms your device into a versatile multi-touch harp with integrated sound sampling capabilities. It allows users to create personalized sound samples to customize their instrument's tone, whether for traditional musical notes or for inventive sound effects.

You can generate sound samples through multiple methods: by recording directly via the device's internal microphone using the "REC" button, or by importing audio files created with an external wave editor on Mac or PC via iTunes synchronization or through the "iTunes File Sharing" technology. Once imported, harpSampler automatically constructs a full 8-octave harp, enabling immediate play using your customized sounds or the default "HARP" preset included with the app.

The software supports all common audio formats compatible with your device (.wav, .mp3, .m4a, .caf, etc.), allowing extensive flexibility for sound design. You can craft your sound files on standard audio editing tools, applying effects such as reverb or chorus before importing them into harpSampler, which then generates the corresponding virtual instrument.

Key features include controls for precise sample start positioning ("SAMPLE START POSITION") and live recording of performances ("REC" button), as well as scalable performance options through selectable "SCALE" menus. Users can enhance musical expression further by selecting chords (C, D, E, F, G, A, B) and adjusting real-time parameters like the "BENDING" control for alterable sound effects. The virtual keyboard feature ("V. KEYB.") allows disabling automatic scale settings in favor of manual play across harp strings.

The application also encompasses multi-voice support (up to 96 voices) for richer textures, an immediate stop function ("STOP" button), and an archive system ("Samples Archive") for storing an unlimited collection of custom sounds. Additionally, it provides functionality to record live performances directly within the app, capturing your creative sessions for playback.
